Tatranský Kriváň á la Andy Warhol:
Andy Warhol (6.8.1928 - 22.2.1987) was an
American visual artist of Slovak, more precisely Ruthenian, origin. He is also
known as a film-maker and a leading figure of American POP-art. Strong, vivid
colours, repeating motifs and iconic depictions of pop culture are
characteristic for his serigraphs. Marilyn Monroe, Campbell's soup and others.
The work is based on monochromatic
photography with high contrast completed by colourful surfaces, lines and
silhouettes with typical shift that arises in the process of a serigraph
creation.
Are you sick of various texts and "funny"
remarks on clothes? Present art instead, show people around you Slovakia and
its beautiful places – show that this country is not a "hole" (diera) in the
heart of Europe…
